The project «COUSIN» is a private project. The idea came after I had completed an interdisciplinary module at Zurich University of the Arts in which I learnt working with the laser cutter. Together with my cousin (Josua Kammermann economics student ZHAW) I founded the company cousin. The focus is the manufacture and sale of leather cases for mobile electronic devices. With an aim to expand in the future. The studio is also something of workshop, located in our garage. The project thus involves different design categories. Central are the categories of industrial design and corporate identity. In addition, I sat apart with the package and the webdesign. The design is aimed at the fashion conscious buyers and is based on vintage design.
The Fundraising Campaign for AIDS Switzerland is designed to stand out and motivate the viewer to donate. In addition, a mood of the community is mediated. The idea of the concept is based on the idea that a group of people (in this case, the donor) can achieve a lot through their common work.
The image plane, which shows people of different ages and sexes, represents the unity of the group. At the same time it shows the international symbol of solidarity with people living with AIDS. The strength liesin the fact that you can still perceive the symbol next to the second viewing of the posters even from a distance. This increases its recognition. The text layer is through the direct address (You & Me, He & You, You & Her) to personalize the issue with the viewer.
The Slanted Special is a special edition of the typographic magazine Slanted. It deals with sustainability issues and consequently persuasive and informative designs with analysis and evaluation of a text. The format of the special edition is the same size as the Margin in the magazine Slanted. The text is set in the block set and individual levels of information differ in font size, font style and line spacing. In addition the concept, which allows the reader a quick over-view. The project «sensitive» was created as part of a photo reportage (journal) at the Zurich University of the Arts, and deals with the issue of sensitive zones. The topic of waste is everywhere. Garbage bags are placed in front of the house until they are picked up by the garbage disposal. At this moment, however, the waste bag is not on the private property and is thus accessible for everybody. We have the Zurich city divided into seven regions, which differ in social structures. Of these regions, we have collected three garbage bags to experiment and compare how their waste relates to their lifestyle. On an additional level, the respective entrances were photographed and documented.
The work «Winter» was created as part of an Intercultural collaboration with the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana. The aim was to share an event via pictogram, which is typical for Switzerland. The icons show the running of the annual wheel change, which must be carried out when it is snowing. The icons along with a strong visual aesthetic must be recognisable and understandable by a wider global community.
If you visit the printing Odermatt AG the size of the print shop is particularly impressive due to it‘s huge size. Therefore it was important to represent the print shop through an information graphic specifically aimed at exploring it‘s size. The Infographic «Odermatt» represents the workflow of printing Odermatt with its important work steps. Thus the floor plans of the shop are therefore in the correct proportions. As an extra level of information the distances which are placed back in the printing process are introduced. The project was created with program Cinema 4D. It is important that the graphic is factual, clean and self-explanatory.
